Post Office
The logo for the national postal service is TPG Post (TPG in blue letters and Post in red letters). In addition to the usual postal services, facilities include phones, self-service faxes, directories, maps, stamp machines, counters where you can buy packaging for parcels and a counter for collectors' stamps and stationery. Housed in every post office is the Postbank, a money-changing facility. Telegrams can be sent from post offices for a basic charge plus an extra charge per word under 11 letters (including address and signature). Details are available at tel.no. 0800 0409.

If you're not sure where you'll be staying in Amsterdam, people can send your mail to the above address. You'll be able to collect your mail from the above mentioned Main Post Office (Hoofdpostkantoor), showing your ID.
Sending Post If you want to send mail to a destination outside of Amsterdam use the slot in the letter box that says “overige bestemmingen”. Stamps (postzegels) can also be bought with postcards from tobacconists and souvenir shops.
